"The True Meaning of Christmas"
illustration for flier.
With about 4 weeks of school left I volunteered to do a Christmas illustration for a flier for my church. Yah, I'm a bit crazy. Actually I had less than a week to create the illustration, make it into a flier and get it printed! So I'm very crazy, but yet I got done and it turned out great! They even had me make a poster with it.
So if you can't tell I've added a couple photos from my senior gallery show:
The gallery gave me 20 feet of wall space and I
only planned for 6. That is why I added curtains!
I had a pretty good turn-up and really enjoyed showing off my work and talking about it to everyone. I even had an opportunity to talk to some professionals from the Graphic Arts world and they had good things to say.
Here is a close-up shot of how I organized and hung my work.
Out of the illustrations displayed only one was from a class, but I've reworked it so many times that I don't even count it anymore. Except for the center illustration on the 2nd row, every single illustration was created over the course of the summer and fall semester on my own.
"Death always so near." Self portrait with skeleton.
Large scale charcoal figure drawing.
As a bonus, I thought I would add the OTHER side of me that rarely is focused on here (GASP! Realistic!?)
I saw that illustration at the top at the church and I saw that it was good. Excellent work!
